The Chef's Touch (Solvang) - dinner

After going here for brunch several times, and lunch a few, I was excited to try this place during a visit with my parents. We enjoyed the reasonable wine, but the food was pretty much a mess.

Menu

Onion rings

These were decent, but I had hoped for thick cut, juicy onion rings, not shoestring-style, so I was a bit disappointed.

We had a bottle of Muga Rioja. It was a nice food wine and very inexpensive.

The bread was served with olive oil. I liked the olive oil but the bread was just ok.

Octopus

This was above average but that's all it was. Not as tender as I would have liked.

Short ribs? with garbanzo beans and cous cous

This was a special and was very good. Unfortunately, I cannot recall the details of this dish.

Pork with plaintains

This was awful!! It tasted like it was old and had been reheated. My mom sent it back.

Chicken? (cannot recall) with cous cous again

Steak -(again with onion rings)

Tasted ok, but there sure was a lot of butter and grease. Not my favorite.

What a shame. Solvang is seriously lacking in dinner options, and after having several delicious breakfasts here, I was hopeful about this place. Unfortunately, it seemed like they phoned in the dinner service. If catering is the focus, they should not attempt dinner. I still will go for brunch though.
